Basis of the Improvement Plan
The Library, Archives and Publications Area deploys its Improvement Plans as part of the operational plans, in this way said improvement actions are managed as projects when the nature of the action so requires.
In addition to the projects, all those actions that are part of the continuous improvement process carried out by the Area.
Among the sources of information used to detect improvements, the following stand out:
- Work performance of professionals
- Management Review
- Buzón de Atención al Usuario (B.A.U.): claims, suggestions, complaints, congratulations
- Formal and informal meetings with users: Focus Group, Library Commissions, Librarian Consultation Service, training courses, direct attention …
- Deployment of the processes and degree of fulfillment of the objectives (CMI)
- Satisfaction survey results
- Degree of compliance with the commitments of the Charter of Services
- Benchmarking activities

Historical Library | Reorganization of the collections belonging to the Historical Library. |
Video tutorials | Development of new video tutorials to support training courses and dissemination of services. |
Dialnet metrics | Participation in the Dialnet Foundation project: Dialnet metrics. |
RFID tagging of the old collection | Replacing the RFID tags of the old collection by other specialized ones for this type of documents. |
News dissemination plan of services and products | Preparation and implementation of a plan for the dissemination of news related to services and products so that they are regularly promoted on communication channels, web portal and social networks. |
Bibliobooks and Bibliomaps at the Algeciras Campus Library | Implementation of Bibliobooks (recommended bibliography application) and Bibliomaps (physical location of the books in the catalog) in the new library on the Algeciras Campus. |
Creation of the Ory Music Library | Management, treatment and dissemination of a collection of vinyl records, belonging to the family of José Antonio de Ory, donated to the Library. |
Intranet | Updating the Library Intranet software, improving some functionalities and its visual appearance. |
Summon search | Quarterly updates of the discovery platform (Summon) with new functionalities: export of citations in APA format, search by ORCID identifier, etc. |
Teaching Innovation virtual courses | Teaching virtual courses to the PDI through the Teaching innovation Unit. |
Affluences. Algeciras Campus | Implementation of the Affluences app to reserve reading spaces after the inauguration of the new library on the Algeciras Campus. |
Google Academic/Scholar | Integration of electronic resources subscribed in Google Academic / Scholar. |
Training courses | Review of the contents of all courses and inclusion of an evaluation questionnaire. |
Biblioguides | Elaboration of new thematic biblioguides that would be added to the existing ones. |
Interlibrary loan | Agreement with NILDE (Italian libraries interlibrary loan platform) to supply interlibrary loan. |
RODIN. Institutional Repository | Collection and dissemination of RODIN’s bibliographic heritage on the Europeana platform (European digital library). |
CAU. Library services | Management of queries through the CAU university application of the Library services that require it. |
