Loan, reservations and renewals
Loans (Physical copies to take home)
This service allows users to use the UCA’s documentary collection outside the Library premises. The loan of documents is personal and to use it, the user must identify himself at the loan desks or self-loan banks with the user card.

Special vacation loans
During the term holidays and local festivity days, there will be loans with an extraordinary duration, which will be communicated well in advance. These loans may affect the entire UCA Library or a single campus Library, in which case only the resources from that particular library will be affected by the special loan, the rest of the resources keeping their normal loan.
Conditions for loans
The number of documents, equipment and spaces that can be provided on loan and the duration of the loan vary according to the type of user:

Reservations
Through this service you can reserve a maximum of 5 copies that are loaned to other users. Reservations can be made through the Library catalog.
Si desea solicitar en préstamo una obra de cualquiera de las Bibliotecas de la UCA, puede hacerlo mediante el Servicio de Préstamo entre Bibliotecas UCA, realizando una reserva a través del Catálogo de la Biblioteca, tanto si la obra está disponible como en préstamo.
If you wish to borrow from any of the UCA Libraries, you can do so through the UCA Inter-Library Loan Service,, making a reservation through the Library Catalog, whether the work is available or on loan.
Once the reserved item is available to the requesting user, they have a limited time to collect it. After this period, the reservation will be canceled.

Renewals
Through this service it is possible to renew a loan, provided that the interested party is not penalized and that the work has not been reserved by another user or the number of allowed renewals has been exhausted (10). In addition, it must be done before the end of the loan period.
Some works cannot be renewed, such as hourly loans.

Self-loan / Self-returns
In all the Libraries you will find terminals to make the loan of the items that are in free access, as well as the return of the same in most cases.
All types of documents can be borrowed except for documents on magnetic media such as DVDs, videos, floppy disks, cassettes, etc.
To loan or return, you must follow the instructions that will appear on the screen of the Self-Loan bank. If there is any circumstance for which the loan cannot be made, the system will tell you with a message to go to the Loan Desk to solve it.
- Self-loan: the user must have a valid user card, not expired or sanctioned to loan an item
- Self-returns: For the return, the user card is not necessary.
Special loans for functionally diverse people
The UCA Library, in order to facilitate access to resources and equipment, has a special loan service for people with functional diversity, mobility difficulties or in a situation of prolonged hospital stay by extending the home loan or the remote loan.
¿What loan services are offered?
- Extension of the home loan: for those users with functional diversity who accredit it, the loan terms will be extended to twice the duration of the normal loan.
- Remote loan: For those users with severe motor disabilities, mobility difficulties and long hospital stays, duly accredited, the possibility of requesting loan documents by telephone is offered, and that another person can collect said documents or send them by mail or other alternative media.
How are these services accessed?
- Functionally diverse users: In order to access the special services that the Library offers, it will be necessary to be a user of the UCA Library and prove their situation through the Diversity Attention Service.
- Users in a hospitalization situation: A long hospital stay is considered to be more than 30 days. In order to access these services, it will be necessary for the user or a person on their behalf to present the corresponding medical report.
Other services
The Library also offers special room services for people with motor or visual disabilities.
