User Card

The following are considered users of the UCA Library:

  • All the people that integrate the university community in accordance with the statutes of the University of Cádiz: Teaching and Research Staff, Students and Administration and Services Staff.
  • Those persons who have been duly authorized and have issued the corresponding library card, by virtue of the agreements, agreements and agreements signed between the University of Cádiz and other Universities, Institutions or individually, provided that the need to use such services for teaching, learning or research purposes.
  • Persons who, without having a direct link with the University of Cádiz, upon request based on the provisions of article 18.5 of the UCA Library’s regulations and the regulations of external users, manifest a legitimate interest in the study, learning and research and the corresponding accreditation has been issued the university library card.

Users of the University of Cádiz

The members of the University Community of the UCA (students, teaching and research staff and administration and services staff) do not need a specific card to use the services of the Library, University Card is enough.


Authorized users

Users authorized by virtue of the agreements, agreements and agreements signed between the University of Cádiz and other Universities, Institutions or individually, will have a card issued by the Library, which will allow them access to the services they are entitled to. virtue of said agreements and agreements.


External users

An external user is considered to be any person who, without having a direct link with the University of Cádiz, manifests a legitimate interest in studying, learning and research, and requests to use the services of the UCA Library. To obtain the external user card it will be necessary to fill in the corresponding form, as well as provide the required documentation, as established in the Regulation of external users of the Library of the UCA .

The people who request the external user card in any modality can not have sanctions or pending demands with the Library of the UCA. Once their application is accepted, they will have a card issued by the Library, which will allow them access to the services to which they are entitled. The validity of the external user card will be for one year, counting from the date of issue, having to be renewed annually.

Modalities of access and services

All those people not related to the UCA who request to use the services of the UCA Library may choose between the following types of card for external users:

Modality A

Users who opt for this modality will have the right to access the Library, consultation services and loan documents, and information resources of the UCA.

Modality B

Users who opt for this modality will have the right to access the Library and consult their documents in the room.

Modalidad C

This modality is contemplated for former students, PDI and PAS of the UCA and will have the right to access the Library, consultation services and loan of documents, and information resources of the UCA, for a maximum period of 5 years, to count from the date of completion of studies and obtaining the corresponding degree, for students, and retirement, for the PDI and PAS.
