What is it and what is it for:

BUsCAdor (search) is a new generation tool that allows you to simultaneously consult all the library resources in an easy and direct way. It expands the contents of the online catalogue with access to external resources.

What content does it include:

This discovery service is based on an exhaustive centralized index that allows access to the contents subscribed by the Library as well as open access materials and local resources: printed books and magazines, journal articles, electronic books, databases, electronic journals, thesis, conference proceedings, documents from the institutional repository (RODIN), books for digital loan, etc. 

The search on this platform does not exclude direct consultation in the original information sources (databases, portals, magazines …). If you want a complete recovery of the information, you must access the Recursos electrónicos page, where you will find direct access to each of them.

The contents of the legal (WestLaw, VLex, IUSTEL), economic (SABI) and scientific (Scifinder Scholar) databases are not included in BusCAdor. For these, we recommend a direct search on the original platforms through the page of electronic resources mentioned.

What advantages does it have:

• Recovery with a single access of all the information that the Library offers in order to help users in their academic and / or research work without having to access each Library resource (catalog, repository, databases, … .).
• Facets or filters to limit the results and obtain greater accuracy.
• Direct links to full texts of retrieved documents when available.
• Information on the availability of the catalog documents.
• Sorting the results by relevance with the possibility of sorting by date.
• Database recommendations and other Library resources based on the search terms used.
• Possibility of Advanced search.
• Correction of writing errors.
• Exporting the results to reference managers or sending them by email.
• Contact with the Library through chat.
• Generation of permanent URLs that can be saved or shared.

How to access

• From the main Library website (web principal de Biblioteca) the search box is located in the central area of ​​the page
• From the other pages of the Library: “Search” (Buscador)  link on the right side menu.

Who can use it

BUsCAdor is available in open access, however, access to the full text of the documents subscribed by the Library is only available for the university community. For this reason, if it is accessed from outside the University, it is necessary to identify with the university codes (u + DNI / password).

The system automatically detects when it is accessed from outside the UCA network by displaying the following message at the top:

If you click on the message, the system requests the university identification.

Once you have entered u + DNI and password, you can access the full text of those electronic documents signed by the Library.
